The dreams are driving him mad...
Spear, enslaved by an insane master, works each day to scrape away any signs of life from ruins of mankind. It would be a tolerable existence if the dreams would just stop. Each time Spear closes his eyes he sees a life he has never lived and places he has never been.

... worse yet, the Master may not be their true creator.

Spear begins to suspect that their true makers, a race of originals, sleep deep within the earth waiting to be woken. Waiting for him...

He must choose to find them, but escape is a death sentence...

Spear Journey eBook Neil Mosspark

This story is very good at building a compelling mystery around a quest by a sentient slave cyborg, Spear. The breadcrumbs the reader follows along with Spear as he journeys through a dystopian far future Earth point to a distant cataclysmic event that wiped humans off the planet. The cyborgs have evolved to form a brutal society that Spear is driven to change.

This tale is written from Spear's perspective in his unique voice. The writing builds a societal dynamic, mystery and world that I want to explore. This story is delightfully otherworldly and that is exactly what I want in a science fiction story. Bravo.

Spear Journey eBook Neil Mosspark Reviews

Enjoyable read. Interesting premise and character revelations. Some grammatical and editing issues, but not that distracting to the overall story.
I have mixed feelings about this story. Overall, I enjoyed it. The premise was good. The story just wasn't fleshed out enough for me. I wanted more backstory. That being said, the characters and situations intrigued me, and kept me reading.
Unlimited though appears got it for free. Don't know what to think of any of the 3 listed below; very dystopian but not really space opera and sorta space and...not my usual reading so hesitate to give it less than 5 because a lot of things obviously went in to each story.

I liked the story but the published book really, really needs an editor. Words missing or the wrong word in the wrong place meant you were pulled out of the story to try and figure out what the author meant to say way too often.
I wanted to give this book five stars, but the editing was so poor that I could not. I loved the adventure story of one AI and his rising consciousness. The author was very creative in his story line. I am a watercolor artist and I respect and admire someone, in whatever media, that can create a believable world out of nothing. Mr. Mosspark is a very good writer.
I was on the edge of my seat, completely spellbound, up until about the 75% mark. Until then, it was one of the best books I've ever read. After then, the double-crossing just got tiring, seeming more like a plot convenience than realistic behavior for EVERY character. I loved the realism of the robots, being so human-like, and Spear's vulnerability and innocence made him quite endearing. But, this book was not edited -- and I mean not at all. Sentences often broke off mid-thought, character names changed, endless typos throughout... Having said that, it says a lot about how much I enjoyed the book that the lack of editing was not the first thing I mentioned in this review, nor did I allow it to affect my rating of this book. I was left wanting more, and that's always a good sign of a great read. But please hire a proofreader.
This incredible book took me on the adventure I didn't know I needed. Unconventional and honest, the storyline twists in ways that are not atypical to a quest borne of necessity. The saviors are not who you think they are. The hero makes mistakes and feels regret. Despite being a completely imaginative sci-fi, the characters have a depth that makes it feel so real. I couldn't put it down. Watching the main character grow, experience hardship, and learn to really live, was definitely worth the read. Exciting, thrilling, fun...
The book reminded me so much of Isaac Asimov, I was looking for reference to the three laws! This is a masterful read. A new classic in the making.
I WANT MORE SPEAR! Lol.
